Easy on the eyes, sailor/pirate/sea creature themed.
I know what you’re thinking. “Dar, it’s been so long since I saw a good Mirana set. At least a few days, maybe a week. Thank you!” Nah, bro. Dude. You are quite welcome. I’m a big fan of mounts, though it will be interesting when we see the first Mirana mount that plays with the color scheme a bit.
Yes, I know I just had a Mirana set before this. Yes, I know a set with a lion was just added into the game files. Sadly, even with both of these facts, I can’t muster up the desire to care about them. The line and hair in this set is superior to the one in the files. Besides that, I’m a firm believer in allowing people to have options. One lion, 2 Lions, 2 Lions and the hero Lion. Whatever floats people’s boats.
At first, I felt like the color scheme was a bit off for Omniknight, and the armor itself would change his profile a bit too much. But, once I saw the in game shots… I realized the in game shaders kinda muted the gold color, and lets face it – if you can’t tell this is Omniknight coming to plant a hammer deep into your skull… well, you’re gonna figure it out real soon.
I really, really dig this set’s mask most out of the entire ensemble. I don’t have much to say on this one, but I don’t think that the picture here really does it justice. So, instead, have a video to really get a good look at it. Do remember to click that lil’ old Cog button and make it HD!
ELVES. Love ‘em. I played a lot of World of Warcraft and I rolled Blood Elf ANYTHING. Every character I roll in any game has silver hair. I think if you combine all these facts, you will be able to assume my reaction to this when I saw it on Reddit this morning. Here is a hint: LOVE IT.
Oh, and it’s well done and shit.
I don’t give a care if its stereotypical, this set is awesome. The design and texture work are top notch, which seems to be the norm when it comes to Polycount Sets. Some people would say that his weapon is the crowning jewel, but I’m going with the chest piece. The fur texture work and tassles are amazing, and I am having visions of a Tuskarr and Crystal Maiden lane with him in this and her cloak tasseled Snopdrop set. Forget that part when she dies 23 times, IT’S STILL A BEAUTIFUL IMAGE.
With the remake of Vengeful Spirit’s model, Spudnik must have felt a surge of creativity (or a surge of possible cash flow) and came up with this well designed take on Venge’s torn wings. It does seem a bit wide to me from the in game shots, but I don’t feel it’s enough of a detriment to the item to consider it unworthy of being the “official” Venge ward.
I’m skipping the top of the week part this week due to all of the items showcased this week. As always, feel free to leave any comments/constructive criticism in the comments, and I’ll see you next week.
