Why hello there, boys and girls! Welcome to a very special edition of Workshop Weekly. Why is it special? Because I have a cold for the first time in 2 years. Why does this matter? It doesn’t! Lets get to this week’s Workshop items. Clicking on an image will blow it up, and clicking on the headline will send you to the workshop page, so that you may dole out righteous upvote/downvote justice.
This set in it’s design is amazing. Here’s the problem, though: There has no indication that this is Beastmaster in it, and that’s what will hold it back (in my opinion) from getting accepted into the store. This is a very good start, but it needs some modifications made. Added fur areas or feathers. Something that incorporates the beastly side of him. As of right now in this iteration, this set is great for someone like say, Axe, but not for this hero. Lets hope this spotlight helps the author re tune it some.
Here is what I love about this cosmetic. It changes Bounty Hunter into a older version of himself, and the amount of awesome lore you can shove into it is amazing. What kinda shit has he lived through? How did he lose his eye? How awesome would it be to have his voice ran through a filter with a slight bit of age as a special addition to the cosmetic? My ventured guess: Fucking awesome. Bonus points if we just replace older Bounty’s voice with David Hayter.
We don’t have any good Centaur Warrunner cosmetics, which is a shame cause in my opinion is original model is rather… bland. Here we have a chic ensemble that says, “I’m ready to rape and pillage, without sacrificing high fashion.” It’s also perfect for the coming spring season with accompanying shades of indigo. Also, I would pay money to see him star in Riverdance.
There isn’t much I don’t love about this set. The mask is different than any other mask in game, while the rest of the items give off a very samurai vibe. Better yet, the orange tones and patterns still let you easily recognize the hero, while still making the items worth the purchase due to the uniqueness of the designs. Also, I’ve always wanted to be a Samurai or a Ninja, except for the fact I’m lazy. And swords have been banned in public since the Meiji Era.
Lets see… who else needs love this week. Ya know, I feel like Lich hasn’t gotten enough respect in the cosmetics area, so I bring you his Imperial Binds set. This is actually a great segway from Juggernaut, due to the fact it has this Asian theme meets James Bond Villain vibe going for it. The only thing I feel it’s truly missing is the back… horns? he normally has that helps identify the silhouette. I feel the the addition of maybe some floating chains would elevate this into the “Perfect” bracket.
The idea of a ward inside of a plant seems like a great idea lore-wise. You’re trying to view your enemies actions, but you don’t want it to be known. Add in the excellent animation, and you have a recipe for one fine item. Feel free to check out the embedded video below.
That’s it for this weeks edition. Any comments/constructive criticism, feel free to leave it in the comments. If you need me, I’ll be falling over into a corner somewhere to pass out.
